I did the annual report and review for 2006, and annual report 2007 for Telenor global.
Everything was hand-coded from the ground and up, in a very short time. The problem with annual reports is a way of getting the data from Excel to HTML in an automated way. We’ve been trying out various exports and XLM/XSLT techniques, but the variety of the data (word/mail/phone/excel/inDesign) makes it hard to anticipate and make a catch-all program. The idea is to eventually make a web-app where clients upload/enter data, convert everything to XML and thus do live updates in inDesign and online. That way the designers can focus on their work and the number-crunchers can be sure the latest and correct numbers are being used.
